Andrea Kovacs Named to Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Board
Albertus Vice President Continues Long Tradition of Servant Leadership

New Haven, Conn., July 17, 2023 – Living the Four Pillars of the Dominican Tradition: Study, Prayer, Community, and Service is all part of the Albertus Magnus College experience. In that spirit, Albertus is pleased to announce that Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations Andrea Kovacs is now a member of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Board of Directors.
Elected to a three-year term, Kovacs is one of 33 community leaders who advocate, support, and guide this charitable, not-for-profit, community service organization dedicated to putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The Y strengthens the foundations of communities and families through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in 24 towns and cities in the Greater Bridgeport and New Haven areas. Additionally, programs and services are offered through the YMCA Camp Hi-Rock located in Mount Washington, Mass.

Kovacs is charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that enhances the public image of Albertus Magnus College; strengthens the Albertus brand; and supports community initiatives. In her 13-years at Albertus, Kovacs has also served as Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment Management – responsible for bringing in two of the largest classes in the College’s history. This, along with her vast community work, earned her honors from both the Quinnipiac and Greater New Haven Chambers for her Excellence in Business.
Kovacs brings a diverse and creative background to her role at the Y. Prior to Albertus, Kovacs directed the Annual Fund at Fairfield University; and she was Senior Vice President for Marketing and Community Relations for United Way of Eastern Fairfield County where she was also responsible for individual gift fundraising. Kovacs also worked in the fashion industry after earning her B.S. in Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY). She then earned her M.A. in Leadership from Albertus Magnus College.
