Great minds are on a continuous improvement journey

New Haven, Conn., August 15, 2023 – Great minds are on a continuous improvement journey.  That’s the case at Albertus Magnus College, where we’re listening to what interests our Future Falcons and the needs of local employers.  Then with each academic year, we add and/or revise programs to augment our proven track record of success to create new opportunities.

Here’s what’s new at Albertus starting this fall:

Undergraduate Degree Program

An accelerated associates degree has been added to the Criminal Justice program, as it is often required for employment or promotion.  Also, it is an excellent opportunity to encourage students to continue on with their education and earn their bachelor’s degree or higher.

Minors

Three new minors are now available to traditional undergraduates:  Pre-law, Economics, and Arts Entrepreneurship.  We listened to what prospective students want and offered these opportunities.

Graduate Degree Programs

Albertus introduces two new ones – a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and a Post-Graduate Certificate in STEM Leadership.  These are fast-growing areas and our graduates will be able to hit the ground running with solution-oriented critical thinking skills.

Program Updates

In order to address market changes and better align the MBA program with the Albertus mission statement, the 48-credit MBA program was reduced to 30.  Another keeping up with the times change is within the Criminal Justice Master’s program with two new concentrations added – Public Administration and Correctional Healthcare Management.  There’s also a new Finance concentration in the M.S. Accounting program.  So, as you can see, a few changes can add up to a more robust Albertus academic experience.

“Throughout our almost 100-year history, Albertus has had the foresight and flexibility to take on new challenges and create new opportunities.  Whether it was pioneering online learning in the 1990s or pivoting rapidly  during the pandemic, Albertus has answered the call -- providing employers with graduates who are career-ready thanks to the critical thinking skills that come with a strong liberal arts education,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Rosa Rivera-Hainaj, Ph.D.

Module One for Professional and Graduate Studies begins Monday, August 21; Traditional Undergraduate classes begin Monday, August 28.  For more information, go to www.albertus.edu.
